Welcome

The International Journal of Contemporary Research in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (IJCRAES) is an open-access and double-blind peer-reviewed international journal published by the Global Academy of Health and Life Sciences (GAHLS). The main objective of GAHLS is to provide a platform for international scholars, academicians and researchers to share the contemporary thoughts and innovations in the fields of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. GAHLS also aims to become the leading international journal in these domains by promoting interdisciplinary studies within these two areas.

IJCRAES will publish abstracts, original papers, review papers, conceptual frameworks, analytical and simulation models, case studies, empirical research, technical notes, and book reviews. In addition, Special Issues devoted to important topics on Agriculture and Environmental Sciences will occasionally be published.

IJCRAES is published twice a year and distributed in June and December.

Agriculture

Agriculture Science is a multidisciplinary term that comprises several disciplines such as horticulture, soil science and irrigation farming, and whose main purpose is to gain a deeper understanding of agriculture in order to better sustain life.

The research undertaken in this area forms the backbone of the key agricultural decisions made in any country. Further research is needed in the aspects of agricultural science that are still not fully understood, yet play a big role in agriculture. A single piece of research could prove revolutionary in the decision making process of a country, and it is therefore the duty of researchers to uncover such useful information.

Furthermore, agriculture is the engine of a country, and even as human beings make technological advances; significant strides should also be made to ensure that agricultural science doesn’t lag behind technologically. It remains the responsibility of researchers to identify areas where the two fields can be intertwined.

Environmental Science

Environmental Science encompasses other fields of science in order to comprehensively study the environment. It is through using the insights provided by Environmental Science that phenomena around the world can be explained, and environmental issues plaguing the world can be solved.

The world is undergoing rapid industrialization that has both apparent and obscure effects on the environment. It is the duty of academics, researchers and research students to investigate the effects of any industrialization activities and to inform society of the findings. In this way, adequate measures can be taken to protect the environment.

The field of Environmental Science research also plays a valuable role in informing the curricula of university environment studies and the planning of lectures. A greater number of academics, research students and researchers publishing in this area create groups of interest that are rich and diverse, and that can contribute effectively to the development of a better environment curriculum. In the longer term, this factor can also lead to improvements in the environment, which will benefit the community on a global level.

Call for Papers

The Global Academy of Health and Life Sciences (GAHLS) publishes a collection of double blind peer-reviewed journals covering many areas of Health, Life Sciences, Agriculture and Environment Sciences. GAHLS invites submissions of high quality articles in these areas. Academics and researchers wishing to submit an article related to one of the above areas, should read the Guidelines to Authors and prepare manuscripts in accordance with those guidelines. All papers are double blind peer-reviewed, with internationally renowned reviewers ensuring that reviews are done in a timely manner and to the highest standards. These journals serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas among researchers around the world. All the journals are published biannually.

The management of GAHLS encourages leading researchers, academics, consultants, scholars, practitioners and research students from their respective domains of interest around the world to publish their articles in its journals. All submissions will be peer reviewed and evaluated, based on originality, technical and/or research content, accuracy, readability and relevance to the journals. Submissions will be selected for publication based on technical merit, interest, applicability, and how well they fit into a coherent and balanced technical program. Author Guidelines

Papers should be original contributions and must not be under consideration for publication with any other journals at the same time. Full papers must contain the following:

  • title of the paper
  • name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s)
  • abstract (200–250 words) and
  • keywords (3–5 keywords, organised alphabetically).

The main text must include:

  • an introduction
  • research problem
  • review of the relevant literature
  • methodology
  • data analysis and
  • conclusion

The full paper should be a minimum of 6 pages and a maximum of 12 pages.

Authors should be willing to supply the reviewers with access to any data and calculations they may request during the review process. Papers should be in MS Word file format and submitted electronically to the Editorial Panel.

Authors are fully responsible for obtaining permissions and clearing any copyright issues relating to the content of their submissions. Each submission will be reviewed by two anonymous reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

The Global Academy of Health and Life Sciences (GAHLS) endeavours to ensure that no form of unethical practice or behaviour is displayed or carried out by the authors, reviewers or editors.

Ethical policy for authors

Authors are required to:

  • provide work that is original, unpublished, unduplicated and unplagiarised
  • adequately acknowledge the materials used or quoted from other sources, using citations, mentions and/or permissions where required
  • avoid violations or infringements of other authors’ and publishers’ rights
  • avoid copying data from other sources without acknowledgement
  • avoid using concocted, untrue or manipulated data or information
  • use their own data or obtain permission to use data reproduced in their papers
  • properly acknowledge funding sources
  • avoid using any material that supports or promotes violence in society
  • avoid any contact with the editor or reviewers for their work
  • comply to all other ethical standards in their work and avoid any unethical or immoral conduct.

Reviewers:

  • should ensure that the work is original and unpublished
  • must not make any contact with the author
  • must maintain confidentiality and must not pass on or divulge any information contained in the work to any individual or organisation either for personal gain or to provide any benefit to another person or organisation
  • must maintain impartiality during the review process and must not show any kind of bias in accepting or rejecting work
  • must be fair and transparent

Editors:

  • must ensure that the author complies with all ethical issues and that publication ethics are not violated
